directTOFILM UVDTF 300mm Printer Printhead, Cables, Inks, Damper and Media Installation Process

In this video, we take you through the installation of an AM.CO.ZA DTF UV 300 Printer. Installing a DTF UV300 printer from AM.CO.ZA requires precision and expertise. In this guide, we will provide a detailed guide of the installation process, ensuring that you can set up your printer correctly. It is highly recommended to employ the services of an AM.CO.ZA technician for a smooth installation experience. Let's begin!

Step 1: Unlocking the Printhead To start the installation process, unlock the printhead from the sliding rail. Use an Allen key to remove the elbow bracket and then loosen the cap stationary enough to enable you to pull the printhead along by hand.

Step 2: Removing the Printed Cover Plate Next, remove the printed cover plate by unscrewing all the screws on either side. This step will grant you access to the internal components of the printer.

Step 3: Detaching the Base Plates The DTF UV300 printer is a dual-head system, meaning it has two base plates. Remove the four screws holding down each base plate. Once the screws are removed, proceed to remove the top protector cover.

Step 4: Preparing the Printheads With the machine ready, it's time to install the printheads. Inside the box, you will find three ribbon cables. Identify the left and right sides of the cables and wrap the left side with masking tape. Apply three wraps of insulation tape over the masking tape, starting halfway down. Repeat the process for the right side of the ribbon cable, applying three wraps of insulation tape.

Step 5: Attaching the Ribbon Cables to the Printheads Begin with the colour printhead. Attach the left side of the ribbon cable (with masking tape) to the left side of the printhead, which has a protrusion on the plastic housing. Gently push the cable straight into the connector tracks. Repeat the process for the right side of the ribbon cable. Apply masking tape over all the attachments, three layers per side. Repeat this step for the white printhead using a different colour of insulation tape.

Step 6: Installing the Printheads Using the screws that were previously removed from the base plates, screw the printheads into their respective base plates. Place the colour printhead at the back and the white printhead in front, ensuring that the higher side of the printheads faces the back.

Step 7: Installing the Dampers Before proceeding with the dampers, fill the ink tanks at the back of the machine, folding them halfway to avoid overfilling. Be mindful of the ink colours, matching them correctly. Use a syringe to pull the inks through the system and into the dampers. Typically, it takes two or three pulls for the ink to flow through. Dispose of the excess ink into an empty container, clean the damper, and plug it into the printhead damper holding unit. Repeat this process for all the dampers.

Step 8: Attaching the Ribbon Cables to the Printhead Circuit Board With the dampers installed, attach the ribbon cables to the printhead circuit board. Attach the left colour printhead ribbon cable to the top multi-track connector marked "left" on the circuit board. Repeat the process for the right colour printhead ribbon cable. Attach the left and right white printhead ribbon cables to the bottom left and bottom right connectors, respectively.

Step 9: Reassembling the Printer Secure the circuit board back into place on the motherboard. Neatly tape the cables with insulation tape and replace all the covers.

Step 10: Testing and Final Adjustments Switch on the machine and observe the printer's automatic movement to the cap station. Perform checks to ensure the temperature controller is working correctly. Switch off the machine and address any low ink warnings by topping up the appropriate ink tanks. Finally, install the Royal take-up feeders, ensuring they are properly tightened and aligned.

You have successfully installed your DTF UV300 printer. We hope this step-by-step guide has been helpful in assisting you with the installation process.
