#SortIT, Achieve Small Letter Clear Printing by Fine Alignment Adjustment on the Fly for FastCOLOUR Printer
We show you how to line up the FastCOLOUR large format printer (F-1600/XP600) to give you exceptional results/quality when you print fine letters.
Make sure that the printhead is set straight.
Begin with the printhead vertical alignment.
Just by looking at the print on the vinyl it is evident that the lines are skew and the colours are just out of place. Now the objective is to have all the lines run straight.
Detach the printhead cover first and then unfasten the screws in the printhead. Make amendments in small increments and then test again.
As you can see now, the vertical lines are superbly straight.
When you are pleased with the results seal the printhead right into place and then replace cover.
Now let us move onto “bi-directional” alignment and “step” alignment.
To execute these procedures, download the FastCOLOUR XP600 alignment tool software either from the utility disk that comes with the printer or from cncu.co.za
Commence with Bi-directional printing.
Press the “high align” button to start the test print.
You’ll notice that in this frame the value with the least offset is “-3”.
Your main objective should is to get the value “0” to display as the slightest amount of offsetting.
Adjust the default value by the offset value. In this case use “-3” and then run the print test again.
This time around the value “0” has the least amount of offset.
When you are content with the results press the “save” button and then move onto the “step” alignment.
Start off by pressing “step align” to print the test design.
As soon as printing is done physically measure the size of the square using a measuring tape.
The objective is to get a reading of 406.4mm from each square.
To do this key in the reading of your measurement and then press calculate. Repeat this process until the objective is reached.
As soon as this is done press the “tune” button to print the fine tune test.
The best result is said to be reached if the value is minus one.
Type in “-1” in the value block and then press calculate.
Now re-print.
When you are satisfied with the results that the value zero “0” yields press “save”.
Great effort, you have successfully straightened and aligned the printhead for general printing.
To achieve great accuracy of small letter printing what you can do is further fine tune your alignment.
Download the FastCOLOUR Alignment lines design from the utility disk. Alternatively download from cncu.co.za.
Run a print test.
In the course of the printing process, press the “EXIT” button. The value of the “Step alignment” and “Hidi. alignment” will appear.
During the printing process, use the vertical arrow keys to adjust settings.
Do the same with the horizontal axis.
If you are satisfied with the final results then press the exit button.
You are now ready to run a full test print.
